For every storm a rainbow, an Irish prayer

Images of shamrocks and leprechauns — practically anything green — line store shelves ready to adorn windows and doors and free surfaces of all kinds. Yes, it will soon be St. Patrick’s Day. It is a religious holiday but in the United States many mark the day with fanfare — parades, green beer, green grits (in the South) and more.

Yet, these tinsel and plastic decorations, simplistic and fleeting though they may be, remind us to have hope and take time to find and enjoy a little merriment in our lives, no matter what the days may bring.

An Irish prayer for you:

May God give you…
For every storm, a rainbow,Rainbow_and_castle_near_Cashel
For every tear, a smile,
For every care, a promise,
And a blessing in each trial.
For every problem life sends,
A faithful friend to share,
For every sigh, a sweet song,
And an answer for each prayer.

  1. Oh I love this post Tanya. I’ll be in Ireland in a few weeks tracing our ancestors footsteps, experiencing their lands and culture. I thank you 😀
