Live your gratitude

It is cool here in Florida today. I awoke to 39 degrees Fahrenheit. I snuggled under the covers a little longer.
As the sun came out, my cat Cinnamon stretched out in front of the glass patio door, ready for a long sunbath.
I marvel at how she finds delight in simple things. These simple things are God’s gifts to all of us.
She is still– so content. I give thanks for the gift of  being able to share this simple moment. I wish for many more like this.

As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them. ~ President John Fitzgerald Kennedy

In need of the infinite, uttermost

Life must have its sacred moments and its holy places. We need the infinite, the limitless, the uttermost — all that can give the heart a deep and strengthening peace. — A. Powell Davies

‘In the Lord’s hands’

I place this day, my life, my loved ones, my work in the Lord’s hands. There is no harm in the Lord’s hands, only good. Whatever happens, whatever results, if I am in the Lord’s hands it is the Lord’s will and it is good. — Dr. Norman Vincent Peale, The Power of Positive Thinking

‘A light from the shadows’

“All that is gold does not glitter,

Not all those who wander are lost;

The old that is strong does not wither,

Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,

A light from the shadows shall spring;

Renewed shall be blade that was broken,

The crownless again shall be king.”

—     J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring
